An image enters public space
Fairey makes images to circulate through stickers, posters, murals, prints, record covers and campaigns. OBEY tests how repetition can manufacture authority and familiarity.
The street is where an image competes with advertising, signage and propaganda for attention.
Print and circulation
The official archive shows limited screenprints, open offsets, colour variants and different formats. A shared image does not imply shared rarity.
“Printing still matters,” Fairey says in the OUT OF PRINT release: print retains tactile presence and circulation in a digital age.
Accessible and scarce are different
A signed open-edition offset offers access to an image without becoming a limited edition. Signature and scarcity answer different questions.
Check medium, dimensions, numbering, year, publisher and condition before comparing prices or choosing a work.
